HEALTH & SAFETY
A company Health and Safety policy has been prepared to ensure that all directors, staff and employees comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other associated regulations and agreed codes of practice and guidance notes. Failure to comply with both health and safety at work act or associated regulations is a serious offence and therefore the company safety policy is strictly adhered to.
Mr C B Wheeler, Managing Director, has the overall responsibility for health and safety matters within the company. We also employ the services of a health and safety consultant to ensure that we are kept up to date with the latest HSE requirements together with making random visits to sites to ensure that our works are being carried out in accordance with our health and safety policy.
All our operatives receive health and safety training and are CSCS certificated. They also receive a copy of our
company health and safety policy.
The directors and staff of the company recognise the need to achieve the best possible standards in preventing accidents, injuries and ill health to employees and others associated with our works therefore priority is given to the assessment of risk and subsequent health and safety planning to ensure the provision of correct information,
instructions and training.
The nature of the company’s business is such that it needs to be flexible in it’s organisational arrangements to act as both Main Contractor and Specialist Sub-
We will achieve this by:
- Provision of adequate resources for all health and safety activities
- Provision of all information required together with instructions and training as may be necessary for all personnel engaged within our company.
- Provision of adequate and suitable protective equipment maintained and inspected on a regular basis and replaced as necessary.
- Assessing the risk to health by examining all substances or materials and their use
- To assist with the safe transportation of materials in the workplace thus providing adequate control measures
- Monitoring and training of all employees
- Provision of plant and equipment as appropriate to the type of work being carried out which is tested, certificated and safe to use.
- Display and communicate such recent information as may be necessary to assist a safe working site.
- Ensure that proper measures are taken to maintain high standards of welfare, hygiene, cleanliness and good housekeeping
- Ensure that correct procedures are in place regarding fire prevention and emergency procedures
- Carry out written risk assessments for all our operations which have a significant risk, the relevant control measures put in place and then communicated to our employees
- Constant review of our Health and Safety policy.
