The company foundations were laid by CWC Ltd supplying and installing boundary fencing of all types, carrying out contracts for the Property Services Agency, the MOD and various local authorities.
Our company’s expertise quickly became known and we expanded into highway fencing carrying out various works on
sections of the M40 motorway totalling some 36km of central reserve safety fencing plus verge safety fencing and in excess of 100km of roadside boundary fencing including post and rail, badger fencing, noise barrier and general fencing. In addition our company carried out the fencing and safety fencing to five sections of the M25. This side of the business has continued to expand to many bypasses and road widening schemes in all parts of the country.

In the early 1980’s our company developed a timber environmental acoustic barrier called Timbersound and over the years we have improved the design and it has become the most effective, aesthetically pleasing environmental barrier on the market.
In 1988 our company became quality assured to ISO 9002 (now ISO 9001:2008) with BSI for the supply and erection of all types of general and security fencing together with highway fencing to Sector Scheme 2A, the supply and installation of safety barrier to Sector Scheme 2B together with the supply and installation of environmental barriers to Sector Scheme 2C.
We have the experience to provide solutions for all boundary and safety fencing problems. Our company is able to work from the beginning of the project by carrying out surveys from the standard specification, drawings and bills of quantity right through to design and build in conjunction with our clients’ requirements, supplying all technical and backup information for the project.
Chris Wheeler Construction retains the services of a health and safety consultant who is responsible for producing the company health and safety policy, auditing it and our compliance with same.
Our consultants ensure that we are kept up to date with all the latest amendments and changes to health and safety which are reflected in our regularly updated health and safety policy to create a safe working environment for both our company operatives, our clients and the public and any others that may be affected by the works.
